My daughter turns 21 (the legal drinking age in Texas)in early August. I am considering a trip to Vegas for her birthday. Am I out of my mind? We live in Houston, so we are used to heat and humidity, but we are in air-conditioning most of the time. This will be the first time to Vegas for both of us.
Vegas in Early August?
It hot, but dry heat. Casino are pretty much a little bit cooler than cool. You might feel the heat as you walk from one casino to another but I haven%26#39;t seen anybody faint or go into convulsions. I seem to believe that that%26#39;s the reason you see so many people out on the strip after dark.
Vegas in Early August?
i took my sister for her 21st bday the last week in july almost 2 years ago. i ain%26#39;t gonna lie, it is the desert, and summer, and godawful hot.
even the pools were hot! but we had a blast anyway! so much fun! go for it.
It will be extremely hot- perhaps over 110. I think the record is 117. But it is doable. You have to learn to pace yourself. Drink lots of water-and then drink some more since you can become dehydrated very quickly without realizing it. Wear a hat, sunglasses and lots of sun lotion. If you are by the pool- seek out a shady place and keep going in the water to cool off. If you are walking on the strip and it seems too much- just pop in the nearest casino for a cool drink and a rest.
Many people prefer to stay in during the day and do their major walking early morning or after dark.
You will be in air-conditioning most of the time. In fact, some people find the casinos rather cool and they bring a sweater to keep with them.
I actually prefer the summer-many people do.
i took my daughter for her 21st, and had a wonderful time. pick a place with a great pool, we chose flamingo, and the crowd was on the younger side, with a great %26#39;party%26#39; pool scene. we did some walking in the evenings, and just stayed inside when it got too hot. shopping, eating, gambling, shows, theres lots to do in the air conditioning!!
enjoy your trip. we sure did.
If you are used to heat with humidity, you shouldn%26#39;t have any problems. Though the actual temperature will be higher, it won%26#39;t be as miserable.
We usually go in early July, but we%26#39;ve done early August, too, and it was fine. Just drink lots of water because it%26#39;s easy to dehydrate since perspiration evaporates almost immediately. You may not think you%26#39;re sweating and losing fluids, but you are.
