Bellagio players club, TOTAL CRAP

Firstly we were told by the lady signing us up at the slots that cos it was our first time registering we would get 2000pts just for signing up and that would be enough for 2 buffets at the Bellagio.

When we didn%26#39;t get them we asked at the players club desk and was told this was a load of crap and the only way to earn Pt%26#39;s is to gamble.

Played slots for a couple of days and earned about 140+ Pt%26#39;s, then played Blackjack for around 45mins at $25-$50 bets, Pt%26#39;s total increased to 620pts.

Next night played Blackjack again same bets for around 40mins but on checking total next day no Pt%26#39;s added so i went back to the Player Club desk to ask where my Pt%26#39;s were, I was told my rating time and bet amount was on my account but no Pt%26#39;s had be issued so i was told to go see a pit boss.

After speaking to 3 different pit bosses and floor managers and getting told 3 different excuses and reasons why there was no Pt%26#39;s added I gave up and put my card in the nearest bin, where it belonged.

So I worked out that i had lost over $2000, which means i probably bet over $4000 in total, playing slots, some roulette but mostly Blackjack and my total Pt%26#39;s was 640 which wasn%26#39;t even enough for any free play or comps at all.

Next time a wont even waste my time registering and carrying the Players Club card as its a load of CRAP.

Bellagio players club, TOTAL CRAP

I can%26#39;t speak for slot play but 40-45 minutes of blackjack each day ain%26#39;t going to earn you anything comp wise, especially at an upscale joint like Bellagio.

As always NEVER play with points or comps in mind. Lose what you can afford to lose (I hope this was the case here), look upon any comps as a bonus and don%26#39;t get bitter if you don%26#39;t earn any. Perhaps if comps are such a big deal you should gamble at a more downscale casino - $4k of action is small change in the grand scheme of things at Bellagio.

Bellagio players club, TOTAL CRAP

From reading what you wrote, the problem was not with Bellagio, it was with what you played and the length you played. If you would have put that $2,000 through the slots you would have had a lot more points. As blagger stated, you didn%26#39;t play long enough to get rated at table games. Keep in mind that in a place like Bellagio, it takes around 7,000 pts per day just to get a room comp. You should have asked about comps and points when you signed up.

Also, this is the first I%26#39;ve ever heard about free buffets at Bellagio, that is the Wynn that does that, you may have misunderstood or perhaps you asked about free buffets and were told that they don%26#39;t do that at Bellagio or could be they told you that if you played enough at the tables you might get a free buffet or two.

well you done it all wrong, you was playing just to get points - thats not the point in them! you get a reward card, play as you usually would and if you get any comps great, if you don%26#39;t they you havent lost anything in a sense

i spent over $1500 last yr in exclibur on slots alone, but i didn%26#39;t get a total rewards card silly me lol i should of done as any comps i would off got would off been a bonus, i wouldn%26#39;t of spent any more money just cause of that, if i got a card and it messed up i wouldn%26#39;t of cared either way

you dnt get a tesco reward card then go spend £1000 on shopping each week just to get youre clubcard points do you

as someone said, to get decent comps in say wynn, bellagio, palazzo, ventian, casears palace you need to gamble BIG, $2000 to them isn%26#39;t big

if you had spent the same amount in the lower casions you would off got something.

Something isn%26#39;t right here: You don%26#39;t get POINTS for table play at Players Club casinos. Keep in mind that table play comps are based on a four-hour average. In my experience,$25 a hand for FOUR hours at Bellagio will earn you about $40 in comps. This is actually fairly generous as far as Strip casinos go.

Points and Free Play are for slots and video poker.

As others have said, 2k is obviously a lot to you, but its nothing at the Bellagio really.

Its a case of lesson learnt really - never chase comps! You get the card, play normally and if you get anything at the end its a bonus.

If comps are important to you, don%26#39;t gamble your 2k at the Belagio, go to Bills, Sahara, Stratosphere, Imperial Palace - those are the places where 2k will you much more in the way of comps than it would at Bellagio, Wynn, Venetian, etc.

Is Bellagio players card stand alone or is it part of some of the other casino players card? If so it would be wise to spread your money around.

The Bellagio is part of the larger players club that is run by MGM. However, even with a multi-casino players club, it will take longer to achieve a comp in the higher end properties. I am not sure what was going on with the OP - sounds like there was a lot of misunderstanding over the course of the whole trip. Joints like Bellagio and Venetian have minimum average table bets to get rated and the OP was barely making that bet. Those size bets would have more value comp-wise at the Excalibur. That length of playing time wouldn%26#39;t get you more than a free drink anywhere on the strip and spreading it around wouldn%26#39;t have helped.

I think that there is alot of conversation about points and comps by slot players on this board. Table players and to a lesser extent VP players need to always remember that comps for those games are calculated differently and everyone needs to take some time figuring out which club matches their play before they pick the casinos that they will give the bulk of their play to.

It%26#39;s part of the MGM-Mirage Player%26#39;s Card

I agree with darrenfromindy, things do not add up.

I highly doubt you could lose $2000 on slots and get 141 points unless you were playing $25 slots.

141 points amounts to about $210 run thru. Which would be about $150-175 lost on slots assuming small wins replayed.

I have never seen any mgm casino put 2000 points on the card for just signing up. They never give away points. On free play you do not get any points.

So it may be, the OP did not insert his card or inserted and removed it. or the card did not register. Always look up if see if the card is registering points and if there is a momentary power failure, you may need to reinsert the card.

Most other mgm casinos would have given you a restaurant comp or buffet comp for losing $2000.
