TR 24 May to June 5 - nine women make vegas their own

I just got back from 12 days in Vegas on a trip that involved stays at Grandview and Jockey Club with 8 ladies ranging in age from 21 - 51. Will post report as a reply.

TR 24 May to June 5 - nine women make vegas their own

This trip came about as a gift to my daughter and 2 nieces as a 21st birthday present. After a year of planning and inviting other women in the family it grew to include 2 weeks at 2 timeshares with people coming and going - it was an incredible never to be forgotten time. I have to be brief so I can get back to reality :(

Day 1: Arrived, unpacked at Grandview and set up decorations for 2 other friends that are coming in to celebrate their college graduation. Grandview was a perfect set up for us as I had 2 units for 4 people - so we could really spread out. The one downside is the distance to the strip - but I had a rental so just jumped on the expressway and got where we wanted very quickly. My daughter and I ate dinner at Mon Ami and froze to death as it was rainy and cold. Picked others up at airport and gambled some at South Point.

Day 2: Took the ';youngsters'; to Rehab pool party at the Hard Rock. I stayed inside and gambled while they drank and partied at the total zoo outside. Went to see CHER at night - thought she was fantastic! Late night we went to the Voodoo lounge at the top of Rio. The place has overpriced drinks - but the view can not be beat!

Day 3: Memorial Day - relaxed by the pool and at night went to see Jersey Boys. I thought this was very good - loved the music. Afterwards we met up with the rest of the party and danced at Harrah%26#39;s Carnaval court. This bar never failed to give us a good time. We would dance there - and then pop into the piano bar which is right next door. Late night we went bowling at South Point - which was a lot of fun since we had the place to ourselves.

Day 4: Pool during the day and then friends of ours had a table at PURE. Although I liked sitting on the roof and enjoying the strip - I thought the dance floor downstairs was crazy - you could not move and could not breathe - guess I am too old for the nightclub scene!

12 days? so curious to hear it all....

I find I am so exhausted after three or four days...

Would love to hear all the details!

12 days is a long time

but it seems as though u have planned fairly well

waiting to read more for the remainder of the trip

Great so far

hey, i was at pure at 34 and felt the same way. unless you have dance room at a vip table, that place is so packed it is stifling.

glad you had a good trip! welcome home.

Day 5: We made this a bit more of a sightseeing day. Took them to see Paris, Venetian, and NYNY. Spent alot of the evening at the Irish Pub in NYNY...then on to the piano bar which was great fun. They charge cover if you want to sit - but you can stand on the opposite side of the room for free - so we stood. Then decided to do some table gambling - grabbed a taxi to downtown. The light show was fun - they have new ones which is nice, there was a band playing and we ended up playing black jack and hanging out at the Golden Gate until the wee hours. I thought it was funny that one night we have a table at PURE and the next we are holding up an end of the bar at the Golden Gate - and had a blast both nights!

Day 6: This is the day that looked better when planned out on paper. I had to exchange the jeep for a mini van, had to move hotels and people and pick up 3 different groups at the airport!! In the end I told some of the group to grab a cab - cuz I just couldn%26#39;t make it back to the airport. In the afternoon we visited a friend who was staying at Red Rock - by far the most gorgeous pool I%26#39;ve been to! So many different pools and hot tubs - and the lounges have super comfy cushions. After sunning we ended up going back out to Harrahs - danced and sang at the piano bar, danced at the Carnaval court and ended up at the Rock House after hours place. Walked through Bellagio on the way home to Jockey Club - and everyone loved the ceiling and the conservatory.

Sounds awesome and yeah, a trip you won%26#39;t forget!

Cher, Jersey Boys, South Point, Carnival Court and tons of bars! Nice choices!

Get any gambling in at all???? lol

Day 7: Went back out to Grandview pool because the pool at the Jockey Club is covered in netting to protect people from the construction! On the way back to the strip we stopped at MGM to see the Lions. Grabbed 1/2 price tickets for Vinnie Favorito at O%26#39;Sheas. I saw him in Sept and his show is similar every time - but it changes with who is in the audience. Everyone enjoyed him and its a cheap evening. Ended the night by gambling at Harrahs, O%26#39;Sheas and Bills.

Day 8: This was going to be the big celebration day for the girls who just turned 21. I had tiaras and everything...but after watching in previous nights the amount of alcohol being bought for them - I decided it would be a bad idea to advertise the fact any further! We took them to see Mystere - which is fantastic. I have seen O, Love, and KA and Mystere is my 2nd favorite. It is so colorful, and I even thought the baby stuff was funny! Traffic on the strip on the weekend nights was unbelievable! It took me an hour to get from TI back to Bellagio after the show. I was more than happy to park the car and walk the rest of the night. One of my nieces did the trainer for the day at the Mirage on this day - and really loved the time with the dolphins.

Day 9 (sunday) - I planned this as ';desert'; day..and boy was it ever! We drove out to Valley of Fire. That was very nice - and we got tons of pictures. The one bad thing is my daughter got bit by a recluse spider - more on that at a later time. I had read about making the drive a kind of a circuit - whereby you continue on to Lake Mead and the Dam...well this was a big mistake for us. The landscape is incredible - but after several hours of driving we thought we were going to die out there and never been seen from again!! Most of the drive you can not see Lake Mead at all...and everyone but the driver fell asleep = which makes it really hard to keep driving!!! Once we got back we all needed a mellow night in - so we ordered pizza and watched a movie.

Day 10- I was suppose to take my daughter to the Grand Canyon back on Day 3 or something...but could not face a 5 hour drive - sleep deprevation kicked in...so instead on this day we took an airplane ride that took us to the West Rim and the skywalk. We enjoyed it - although I know that the South Rim is more fantastic. I picked the West Rim trip partially because of the cost being around $200 a person instead of $400 for other packages. She really enjoyed the Skywalk - they took a picture of her doing a handstand on it - which we bought of course :) On the way back in the plane she showed me her spider bite - which was now spreading red down her leg! So got back to the strip and took her to an emergency clinic. Turns out Brown recluse spiders are common - they gave her a steriod shot and meds and we were on our way. She is fine now, by the way.

Wow, that%26#39;s VERY scarey. I always had heard the Brown Recluse was deadly! Thank Gawd she%26#39;s okay.

oh yeah... never drive the strip at night...lol

Brown recluse spiders are deadly!! The only 2 spiders that can kill you are Black Widow and Brown Recluse. But it turns out alot of it has to do with how allergic you are to the venom. We got very, very lucky on this.
