the orleans is it walkable

hi all we love walking just wondering wether the orleans hotel which is just off strip in walking distance,if the road is pedestrian friendly with pavements etc. has anyone been there there is a TGI fridays and good steaks apparently not forgetting an ice cream parlour!!! walk the cals off before we eat lol

the orleans is it walkable

We%26#39;ve been there many times and i know i wouldn%26#39;t walk it. Not sure when your planning on going but it%26#39;s very very hot in Vegas during the summer.

There are free shuttles you can pick up right outside of Bills . They will take you there and back.

Orleans has a nice buffet and priced right also.

It is walkable if your feet can take the hike. To me it is not pedestrian friendly or a scenic walk.

Take their free shuttle that drops you off at mid-strip at Bill%26#39;s Gamblin Hall or take their free shuttle to the Gold Coast Casino and walk over and visit both the Rio and the Palms. The Rio and The Palms are very close to Gold Coast.

You could walk it but you will walk a good deal in the casinos and on the strip anyway. The view of the gentleman%26#39;s club and the industrial lots are not very pleasant compared to the sights of the strip. I would take the shuttle and walk the strip.

The TGIF%26#39;s is like any other in the chain and nothing different. The ice cream is nice but average. If you are looking for a really good steak try The Prime Rib Loft at Orleans or Canal Street. The coffee shop has great late night specials including steak and eggs.

You%26#39;d walk more than calories off brainbox. Maybe a couple of skin layers as well:-)

As has been said, the shuttle service is excellent and with the walk from your room to the other side of the sasino where you pick it up will be sufficient calorie burnage.

You%26#39;ll love Orleans. Rooms are very pleasant. I%26#39;m going to miss it this time round but just want to try some new places.

Yes, you can walk to it and no, I wouldn%26#39;t bother. It really isn%26#39;t a pleasant walk-there is nothing nice to look at. Take the shuttle from Bill%26#39;s (Flamingo Rd side). It runs from 9:30 until about midnight. Just be sure you get on the right shuttle- there is another one that goes to the Gold Coast.

As others have said- you are really not going to have to worry about walking off calories. You are going to do more walking then you can even imagine.

Have fun on your trip and take the shuttle!

brainboxnot - I realize your question was about the Orleans but if you want to walk somewhere other than the strip...once you are at the Orleans, take that shuttle to Gold Coast. You can then take a short walk to either Rio or Palms.

We shuttled to Gold Coast from Bill%26#39;s and then walked to Palms. It%26#39;s a short walk but gives you a chance to enjoy the scenery and look out to the mountains without the sidewalk being crowded.

Ditto the comment on the buffet being tasty. We don%26#39;t usually eat lunch buffets but the price is definitely right for the Orleans and their are many choices (USA, BBQ, Pasta, Asia, etc) to choose from and the dessert was very moist and tasty (not always the case for a buffet)! I think it%26#39;s $8.95 for lunch and you get a $1 off with a players card. We had a B1G1F coupon so ours was $4.50 each! Excellent service and it was clean.

thanks all for the replys last time we went to vegas we walked from luxor to stratosphere and back hard going but enjoyed it i think i must be mad lol lol picked up nive tan though

to all......just remember things look closer then they are take anvantage of the free shuttle last time i went i walked from flamingo to the rio made it ok but not a freindly walk very narrow sidewalk and a little hilly at points oh bye the way i took the shuttle back good luck

how do you know which shuttle to catch and have you got to have the right money or do you have to purchase tickets somewhere?

You could walk it (I wouldn%26#39;t) and make a pit stop at the In N OUT burger.
