Signature MGM Grand

We are planning our trip from Aug 30 - Sept 5 %26amp; staying at the Signature MGM Grand, Sounds like an awesome place , what was it like to get a shuttle from the airport %26amp; cost , I would love all your suggestions on ways of getting around , how easy was it getting to the monorail ect. Your favorite Places to eat . Is there a place close by to pick up a few groceries , beer etc.

We stayed at Signature in May it%26#39;s great place very clean. We took cab on arrival faster than shuttle and cost was I think 15.00 with tip. We found groceries at Walgreens which is about 4 blocks down just before Paris. We stayed in tower 2 and found fastest way to strip is walk through pool at tower 3 and you will see a door at far end of pool which leads to Harmon St. than you are only about 1 block from strip. Far as transportation we found Duce was most convenient and 5.00 will get you a pass for whole day.

Hi - we are also planning our trip from 30 Aug to 5 Sept %26amp; staying at MGM Signature - what a coincidence!

In my opinion Signature is close enough to the airport that a taxi is probably better value for money than the shuttle, as its about 10-15 mins from the airport in a taxi and your holiday starts when you arrive!

The monorail station is at the back of the MGM Grand, and you have to pass the station on your way from the Signature to the MGM. Personally i think it depends where you are going and at what time of day as to whether this is a better value for money than a taxi. There are other posts on tripadvisor giving the easiest/quickest way through the casino to the strip - which is very good advice.

As for favourite places to eat - there are lots of lovely places in Vegas to eat - don%26#39;t restrict yourself to MGM.

Take a taxi. The shuttle is sloooooooow and kind of ghetto.

Thanks Dudskie for the great tip! I stayed in tower 2 and wasn%26#39;t aware of that short cut. I used the pedestrian gate by the main entrance but your short cut would save a lot of time.

BTW, can you get back in that way (is there a card reader)?

No you can not get back in from street door is locked, you will have to walk another block to main gate to get back in. However it is much shorter when going from hotel to strip.

Signature was top notch...definately take the cab, I found it took too long to get everywhere. Its at the MGM so you think its on the strip, but its not even close really. Not convenient at all, but the beds and the shower and the tub make it worthwhile.

When my girlfriend and I were in Vegas we mostly used cabs, but in retrospect I wish we didn%26#39;t. Its expensive and the cost adds up quickly. The Deuce is cheap but don%26#39;t expect to get anywhere quickly during the evening - if you%26#39;re going to ride keep it to the morning/early afternoon. The monorail is a little bit more expensive ($12 I think?) but its relatively quick. The only con about the monorail is that its at the back of all the casinos which can be tough to find at times (its really easy to find at MGM though). In all honesty though my suggestion would be to walk most places. I know its hot and the escort advertisers are a real pain but you do get to see the most that way.

You can get a $9 24hour monorail pass at any station, well worth it.

we should try to meet up and have a drink together . seeing we are all staying there at the same time. We will be arriving around 2pm. It would be awsome to connect , I have a daughter living in the UK. we spent a month there at Christmas. We were actually right in Cambridge shopping !
