Palms, Flamingo or back to MGM

We are planning our second trip back to Vegas for July. We just went in May for the first time and loved. We won a bit so saved it up to go again.

Last time we stayed 2 days at Circus Circus (due to very expensive rooms because of a convention) and the next two at MGM at the $49 rate.

The MGM was great. A bit big but has everything you can possibly think of in terms of things to do and eat. We wouldn%26#39;t mind staying here again but I would like to try out another place.

This time around I really want to stay in a GO room at the Flaming and have actually found $85 rates which seem good.

The other place is The Palms which has $64 rates. I don%26#39;t even know where the Palms is location wise.

What do you all recommend? Palms, Flaming or back to MGM?

Thanks

Dee

Palms, Flamingo or back to MGM

Palms is about a mile west of the Strip, across the street from the Rio. Party central at weekends with a very hip young crowd. Much quieter midweek with more of a locals feel.

If you ';really want to stay in a GO room'; then go with your instincts and stay at the Flamingo.

Palms, Flamingo or back to MGM

If it were me I pick the Palms hands down.

Location-West of the Strip about 2 blocks on Flamingo.

Its a trendy, younger hip vibe. Some great clubs and great pool. Both locals and out of town crowd, celebs, etc.

That is a good rate for Flamingo, but it%26#39;s an amazingly good rate for Palms. Palms is off-Strip across the street from Rio and Gold Coast. If you don%26#39;t mind taking the shuttles to and from the Strip, I would give Palms a try at that bargain price.

That is a great price for the Palm.

But you want to try the GO rooms, so TRY the GO rooms! Great location, and this time you can explore all the casinos and attractions at that end of the strip!

MGM contiues to be my favortie, but in Vegas I say sample all you can and get a feel for what YOU like best!

Flamingo is a great choice, that is a fantastic rate for the Go room. The beds are so comfy with the Ultra soft pillowtop mattresses %26amp; all the hi-tech electronic in the room %26amp; it has 4 great pools %26amp; 1 adult pool, %26amp; hot tubs. You have Margaritaville their for fun %26amp; good eats. The best part, it is mid strip so it makes it easy to go in either direction on the strip. You can check out the rooms %26amp; pool on their website by clicking on virtual tours. On the top click on LV then hotel then pool or Hotel overview, or whatever else you want to check out

www.harrahs.com

Also make sure you get their Total Reward Card, you can accumulate points at all of their casinos for comp meals, free rooms or for free stay in the future, or at least a great discount rate.

The Palms isn%26#39;t on the strip so if you don%26#39;t mind catching a bus or cab each time you want to go to the strip, cab fares can add up so it doesn%26#39;t add up to a great deal unless you have a rental car.

Have a great time in wherever you decide to stay !!!

pruske, you can promote Harrah%26#39;s properties all you want, but please don%26#39;t post misleading information about other properties. It is absolutely not the case that you have to take a cab everywhere if you stay at Palms. Both Gold Coast and Rio across the street have free shuttles to the Strip that run regularly, and Palms has its own shuttle that runs a little less frequently.

If you stay at the Palms you might want to upgrade to the Superior rooms(located in the Fantasy tower0 they are higher quality and newer(about 2 years old). The rooms in the palms tower haven%26#39;t been renovated in 7 years and are worn a little and not as high quality.

Purske- When you suggest the Flamingo you should try to include for the person to possibly get a GO Room. I read the hotel reviews for vegas weekly and the last 200 reviews of the flamingo are heavily ridled with people who said the deluxe rooms are totally run-down and dirty. I know lots of people love the GO Rooms.
