Rental cars on the strip...where to go?

I want to rent a car for the last day of my trip since I will have a late departure and I get kicked out of the hotel at noon. I am staying at TI. Is there any rental car places on the strip that I can easily get to and hop in a car????

Too lazy to do research, if someone knows, that would help me...trying to tie up loose ends before MEGA week!

Dollar has a counter right up the escalator.

You can book online.

wooo hoo sweet! thanks HH

Left out info: they have a counter right there at the TI but I believe it closes at about 5:00 p.m. Plan accordingly.

OMG now I have to get used to the idea that I will be driving in LV.....that is a new one for me....been hoofing it and cabbing it every other trip. Don%26#39;t get me wrong I can drive, used to do it for a living, but they are CRAZY out there, even more so than DETROIT!

I%26#39;m looking for a cheap car rental on the strip also (staying @ MC). What%26#39;s the going rate for on-the-spot rentals (as opposed to online res)? I just need it for a day, probably from about 10 to 5-6?

Minimum of $30 plus taxes, etc, for a sub compact.

Once you make your reservation-and you absolutely should make a reservation if you want to drive in Vegas- keep checking the rates. If they drop you can then rebook getting the cheaper rate. I have done that as many as 3 times with the same reservation.

Driving in Vegas is no worse than driving in any other big city. In fact-when I first went there I was amazed at how easy it was and how so much more civilized it was compared to driving in the NYC metro area. I have always rented a car-always. It is so convenient and so great not having to worry about cab fare, a hike to a monorail station or a slow and crowded bus. You can use the map in What%26#39;s On. On the front you have a map of the strip/surrounding areas and a map of downtown. On the back is a map of the greater LV area. If you really need a detailed map- use the maps in the front of the phone book- they don%26#39;t come more detailed than those!

I am not following your logic for why you need to rent a car on your last day. You are not getting kicked out of your hotel at noon, only out of your room, and you can easily leave your bags at the bell desk. Unless you%26#39;re planning on taking a day trip somewhere, I guess I%26#39;m just not understanding the need.

Several strip hotels have car rental desks, but they are generally open 8-5 only. Make your reservation ahead of time. We tried walk up to rent a car once, even though it was a quiet time of year they wanted 89 bucks for one day. But why rent a car? Leave your luggage at the bell desk and pick it up later when you get ready to catch your plane, like another poster wrote.

To me it sounds like a great idea. So many people don%26#39;t ever get off the strip. There is so much more to Vegas than the strip-or even downtown. It gives you the opportunity to easily visit other off strip casinos, restaurants, attractions, see VOF, RRC, etc.

I would suggest having lunch at Rosemary%26#39;s. Use the coupon on their website-it is a bargain at $23. Then you can drop the car off at the airport without having to take a cab.
