Loved Red Rock Canyon

Went to Red Rock Canyon this past weekend... it was great. It was a nice escape. Great Scenery, enjoyed seeing the red rock formations, the squirrels, birds, lizards, and the turtle at the visitor center. I went after a night of heavy drinking, so I was a bit dehydrated, but the trip was still very enjoyfull. Wife and I hiked around for a while, drank plenty of water, and enjoyed sitting in the cool, shady rock craters, away from the hot sun. My wife really enjoyed taking pictures with her new camera. Nice drive, nice trip, really enjoyed it.

Then you%26#39;ll probably like Valley of Fire.

Loved Red Rock Canyon

We love taking a morning out every trip to Vegas for a visit to Red Rock Canyon. You are right, a nice escape and a great look at what the area was like before we got there and started building!

What and Where is Valley of Fire?

I%26#39;ve been to both. While VOF is on a grander scale than RRC, I must say after going to VOF 3 times, I was pleasantly surprised by RRC. It%26#39;s a nice, short trip from the strip (VOF is about 50-60 minutes), it%26#39;s gorgeous scenery, and it was nice to visit RR Casino as well.

Here is info on VOF

This is a nice day trip where you can include Lake Mead and Hoover Dam in the same trip.

We did Red Rock on our trip last year and this trip (last week) we did Valley of Fire. In my opinion, VoF is like Red Rock on steroids - just incredible. Definitely worth a trip.

Took us about 40 minutes to get there, $6 to get into the park. It%26#39;s not a loop drive like Red Rock, but a straight through drive with stopping points. We really enjoyed it and even hiked a few of the shorter trails.

If you liked RRC- you would probably love VOF. To me there is no comparison. The sandstone formations are stunning and they will really knock you socks off! They also have hiking trails and even a picnic area. I strongly suggest you visit next time you are in Vegas. You can combine it with Hoover Dam and maybe a cute paddle boat ride at Lake Mead.

VOF sounds pretty interesting...I%26#39;m a little surprised I hadn%26#39;t heard of it before
