TR-Downtown June 6-8th-

Hey Guys Got back this morning. Here are the details if you care.

Left TPA via Air Tran at 7am Arrived Vegas around 10:30. No Checked in Bags- Decided to take Bells Trans to GN instead of a Cab- It was $7.50- BIG Mistake. Way too many stops it took like an hour and 15 minutes to finally reach the GN. As i%26#39;m writing this I still have no idea why I decided to do that. The shuttles have advertisments over the windows so you cant even look out the windows to enjoy the view. I Will never ever do that again.

Arrived @ the GN Friday afternoon around 12ish. No Line at check in- I was playing in the Black Jack tourny at the GN this weekend so I got a decent package but it was south tower room- The lady at the desk asked if i wanted to upgrade for $40 a night- I declined. Although I did ask for a High Room Floor- I declined the upgrade because a lot of people on here complained that the construction noise was very loud, the GN is building a new tower right behind the pool.

I received a room on the 22nd Floor right off the elevator. I was impressed with the Room- VERY QUIET- Comfy Beds- Roomy and it had a big screen plasma TV- The Bathroom was small, but I didnt care this was a solo gambling trip. Some people complain that the south tower was too far of a walk and that they get swamped by time share people- The walk was short in my view and I never was approached by a time share person. I liked the South Tower a lot, close to the pool and very quiet. I was impressed by the room- I think I rcvd an upgraded South Tower Room.

I threw my luggage into my room- I was starving and had a little headache because of that long and stupid bells trans shuttle- I think that advertisments on the windows messed with my eyes cause I had a pounding headache. I walked down to the Golden Gate- Signed up for a players card and got myself two shrimp cocktails with two advil-

I really dont like the Golden Gate- I didnt play here at all, I walked over to the Casino accross the street- I think it was the Vegas Club? They advertise ';the most liberal 21 Rules';, So i thought I would begin my playing weekend there. A few decent tables- played $5 table at first. I was very impressed with the cocktail service- Sobe and Vodka%26#39;s came very quick- after about 2hrs left the tables a few bucks ahead but a nice buzz.

Went back to the the GN- Figured I would play on their tables a little bit- $10 tables 3:2 BJ. played a few hours once again their cocktail service was really good- I was upset because they didnt serve, RedBull, Monster or Sobe- So I had a few OJ and Vodka%26#39;s- Drink Service was Very impressive. Played a few hours left the table even.

Signed up for the BlackJack Tourny- and then went to the GN Buffett to get my grub on. It was decent, not the best- I guess it was Seafood and stuff night- The food wasnt the best but it was decent and filling.

Walked to binions, fremont, 4queens, played at their tables- came out even except for binions won a lil money there- Nothing special about these casino%26#39;s- Drink service was blahhh. Maybe cause it was friday night and busy?

I checked out the car show on Fremont street and wow they have some amazing cars- I spent a few hours talking to the owners as im a huge car fan. I didnt stop once to watch the FSE, it%26#39;s lame to me.

back to my room around 1am- Exhausted-

Woke up Saturday Morning- I had a 9:45 Play time for my BlackJack Tourny. I wake up around 8am. Walked to Main Street Station to eat their Breakfast Buffett it was around $12 but it was good, played some BJ their left even and off to the GN for my Tourny.

Ugghh BlackJack Tourny @ 9:45 I got kicked out in the first round, I did not have the best luck on the table- Oh well it was good experiance.

Walked over to the ElCo I told myself I would check it out- I played a single Deck BJ table it was 6:5 but it was an ideal situation for me- I%26#39;ve been practicing the High Low Count for a few months and I gave it a try. I lost count a lot but I did very well at the ElCo was up about $600, the dealers at the Elco were all Asian and really mean though and the pit boss was a jerk too- really giving me the evil eye the whole time and making me feel uncomfortable. Left the table and the casino- i liked the gaming there but the dealers and the Pit boss not so much.

Walked over to the GN played on their $25 tables for a few hours walked out even- it was late afternoon- I relaxed at the GN Pool which I love-

Back to the room took a quick nap and a shower- walked to MSS again played some Tables over there didnt do much- went to eat their dinner buffett- Mmmm I enjoyed it very much, best DT buffett by far!!!

After dinner went to the GN played the tables again- I did really good this time- Up about $700, Pit Boss was very nice to me, gave me a free sunday brunch Comp and a One night room Comp...

Went to bed early Sat Night around Midnight but overall trip very good so far.

Sunday- UGGHHH Black Sunday----- Wake up early played the tables- Down a few hundred. Ok whatever it was the houses money.. Left and went to the Vegas Club thought I needed a change of scenery- Nope Lost More money! Back to the GN check out was 12pm- I had a red eye- Played more at the GN lost A LOT MORE-- I was sooo mad, I dont know what happened!!

Ok so I made a decision I needed to leave the casino%26#39;s I was sooo mad. I went to the movie theatere and watched Indy Jones- (which i liked) Haa, Can you believe it im in vegas and I went to the movies.. The tables kicked my butt sunday- After the movie I thought my luck would change. But nope lost more money- I told myself enough is enough at this time im down a few hundress- I plop down at the GN sports book watch the Laker-Celtic Game.

I had a 11pm flight which was delayed 2hrs, Finally left Vegas at 1pm, Back to Tampa around 9am this morning.. TIRED

Overall, I love DT. Great Gaming, Good Eats and fun experiance. next time I will learn my lesson stay two days ONLY!!!

LOL, love your TR, sorry the tables kicked your butt so badly on Sunday. I will be at the GN in three short weeks, I love reading others reports. Hope the tables are a little nicer to me when I get there.

TR-Downtown June 6-8th-

More than once I%26#39;ve gone to see a movie when I was having a big losing day, nothing wrong with that at all. Good report!

';Down a few hundred. Ok whatever it was the houses money.. Left and went to the Vegas Club thought I needed a change of scenery- Nope Lost More money! Back to the GN check out was 12pm- I had a red eye- Played more at the GN lost A LOT MORE-- I was sooo mad, I dont know what happened!!';

1) It was NOT the houses money - you had won previously - it was YOUR money. If you%26#39;re willing to lose it, fine, know it is your money - at any time you can do with it what you want.

2) What happened was you were not a gambler able to stop playing when you reached a pre-set, which you either didn%26#39;t have or ignored. Knowing the rules of a game does not make one a good gambler - you have to manage your bankroll.

everyone should have session limits - and follow them. sometimes a certain loss is acceptable - in your case it was not since you said you were ';...sooo mad...';

No one should ever play in a casino and not know what happened.

I%26#39;m surprised the drink service was good at the GN. Last time I was there I walked out because the drinks were so hard to get.

Now that you have recieved the ';official lecture';....lol

Thanks for sharing your trip with us. I am glad you had such a good time even though you had to suffer through Black Sunday.

Thanks for sharing.

I%26#39;m not a card player so forgive my ignorance but can you get kicked off the tables if the pit boss and dealers take a dislike to you or your style of playing?

The El Cortez crew sound like they had some kind of a bug up their butt to have made you feel unwanted. I would think they would have been glad for your play. Instead it sounds like a case of ';cut off their nose to spite their face'; ??

I guess I%26#39;m glad I don%26#39;t play cards after all.

Gee, all this time I thought Bridgefan didn%26#39;t read TR%26#39;s. I hope she didn%26#39;t read mine a few weeks ago. I said some really nasty things about her.

Glad you enjoyed downtown, nutzz.

Thanks for a great TR about DT.

I%26#39;m staying at the GN for a night in September. Can%26#39;t wait.

Sorry about your loses on Sunday, but hey you were in Vegas!!!

Cas

Get0ff, is your observation that ';the dealers at the Elco were all Asian'; of any significance?

I%26#39;m hoping it was intended as an innocent throwaway comment but statements like that can be interpreted in a number of ways.
