Bally's or Planet Hollywood????

I`ve got reservations at both right now for Sept. $89/night at Planet and $70/night at Balley%26#39;s (deluxe room).

Anyone have any opinions.. I%26#39;ve heard/read lots of complaints about the food at Planet but don%26#39;t know that we will be at the hotel a lot anyways...

thanks

Bally's or Planet Hollywood????

I%26#39;ve stayed at Ballys several times and loved it everytime. i%26#39;m not sure about their pool scene, I%26#39;ve only stayed at Ballys during the Winter time. Other than that, enjoyed their buffets, rooms were nice and clean, friendly people, nice property... Good location

Bally's or Planet Hollywood????

I prefer Planet Hollywood, if you plan to use the pool maybe Bally%26#39;s is a better choice.

cmrVancouver: I%26#39;ve stayed at both; 5 times at Aladdin/PH and twice at Ballys.Food choices at Planet Hollywood are just ok . Planet Dailies (the 24 hr restaurant) is loud, dark, and overpriced and poorly managed and run. Starbucks is convenient 24 hrs a day. There are lower to mid priced food choices in the Miracle Mile mall. Buffet is ok to good; not great.

Planet Hollywood has a better slot selection, but since the switch from Aladdin to Planet Hollywood , staff is so-so; comps have suffered.

Pool scene is non-existant at Planet Hollywood ; two holes on the fifth floor roof; shade lacking.

Elevators were always on the slow side and dishes from room service tend to sit in the hallways for sometimes days.

Ballys is older, casino is smaller, slot choices are lacking. Low to mid priced food is available at Sidewalk Cafe, Sbarros, Nosh, and Johnny%26#39;s Delicatessan. When we were there in April, the buffet was closed. Points earned at any Harrah%26#39;s owned hotel during your stay can be used towards your bill; Planet Hollywood is ';stand-alone'; as far as comps go.

Hate to choose because I don%26#39;t know your age . At early 50s , we find Ballys to be more affordable and better comp-wise. Planet Hollywood seems to be striving to capture the late 20- early 30 crowd, which I missed the boat on 20 years ago.

I did notice more hookers prowling Planet Hollywood in the early morning hours, if that%26#39;s a plus.

Bally%26#39;s has a monorail station and is also connected via interior hallway to Paris.

Lastly, timeshare people are extremely everywhere at Planet Hollywood. Almost every entrance has some hawk shilling something.

You asked lol ; I answered. Either way, enjoy your stay.

Bally%26#39;s is my favorite place to stay. The north tower rooms are huge, nicely furnished, nice bathrooms and everything is extremely clean. The location is great too, connected to Paris, center strip, across from Bellagio. There are alot of good food choices in that area of the strip. The hotel and casino are easy to find your way around in and I enjoy gambling there. Plus the staff have always been very helpful and friendly.

I also really, really like PH. The location isn%26#39;t bad. The rooms are big and nice and the bathrooms are huge with separate shower, separate water closet and a european soaking tub that is wonderful!!! We enjoy gambling at PH even though it does have more of a younger vibe. We enoy eating breakfast at Ocean One in the Miracle Mile shops and we think the buffet at PH is very good, have always enjoyed it and thought it was one of the best on the strip for that price.

It depends on what your personal tastes are and what you are looking for but I really don%26#39;t think you can go wrong with either place. Have a great trip!

PH casino is a LOT more fun than Bally%26#39;s. Food at Bally%26#39;s is bad, too. Food at Paris which is connected to Bally%26#39;s is good.

Just got back last night, having stayed at Ballys for the first time. Had requested a North Tower room, but was offered an upgrade to a Celebrity suite at checkin for an extra 50.00/night - but in the South Tower. Decided to take it, since the woman at check in gave us her extention and told us if we didn%26#39;t like it, just call her and our room would be changed immediately....Room was huge and spacious and very clean...no problem there.

What I didn%26#39;t like was the smokey smell whenever we walked into the casino...plus, I felt the slots were very tight. We are in our mid 50%26#39;s, and we felt young there!!!

We also visited PH...and loved it. But, we didn%26#39;t have a room there, just enjoyed the casino - and felt the slots were a lot looser than any Harrahs casino.

We ate at the Earl of Sandwich - which I think is fairly new...the sandwiches are all around 5.99, DH had turkey and I had meatballs = they were both very tastly - and would get them again.

There is also a place called Tacones in the the mall - sandwiches and wraps around 8.99 - used a Restaurant.com coupon - and felt this was the best %26#39;find%26#39; of the trip for lunch.

Next time around, it is PH for us - not Ballys.
