Blackjack Betting Question

Do the strip casinos let you bet on other players hands at the table? I played a few years ago at the Conrad Jupiter casino in Surfer%26#39;s Paradise in Australia and you could do this. It made the game that much more fun as you could enjoy other%26#39;s ';hot streaks.';

I tried to do this at Venetian and was told it wasn%26#39;t allowed. I didn%26#39;t ask if it was casino policy or general in Vegas.

Blackjack Betting Question

Nope. Could have changed, but I doubt it.

I%26#39;ve experienced this at Bill%26#39;s (but back when it was B. Coast), Mirage, MGM, Wynn, and Four Queens . . .

Do you mean to play 2 or 3 hands at the same time? If so, I always do this, when the table isn%26#39;t full and there%26#39;s a spot next to mine, I always play 2 hands. I usually play late night when it%26#39;s not crowded, so they usually allow me to do so.

No, he probably meant standing behind player and bet on the same hand as that player. A common practice in Macau before all the casinos are popping up over there.

There were more players than tables.

Oh, sorry I didn%26#39;t fully understand the OP%26#39;s question then. My bad. Well in that case no I have never done so and never seen anyone trying to do so. Sorry for the confusion.

This is common at casinos in Canada. The seated player gets to call the shots. I%26#39;m personally not aware of any casinos in Vegas where this is allowed. If so,I would walk around the tables looking for someone who was ';moving money with the card count'; and bet over their shoulder!

with permission of the pit boss this has been practiced at MGM, Caesars and LVH.

Not usual, the tables were full and permission is not always granted.

Not common practice - can be done on rare occassions

As others have said, it is not widely allowed but can be at certain casinos on occasion. You should ask the pit boss.

I%26#39;ve seen this (and done it myself) at casinos in other places. Although I don%26#39;t particularly like it if someone I don%26#39;t know wants to bet behind me (makes me feel pressured to make good decisions!), I think it should be allowed.

Not sure about blackjack but last year, my friend and I were allowed to do that playing Pai Gow at the Monte Carlo, Four Queens and the Luxor. We were also allowed to bet on each others hand playing Texas Holdem Shootout at Binions.
