Riviera Hotel

I have booked into the Riviera hotel but as I havent been to Vegas for a few years I got my position wrong. I was thinking this hotel was bang in the middle. I have now realised it is not. Can anyone tell me if I am well out of the way? They were extending a monorail system when I was last there. Does this link many hotels?

Thanks for any help.

Billy.

Riviera is located on the north side of the strip. To get to the monorail you%26#39;ll have to go to Sahara or LV Hilton, both walkable IF you are up for a walk. Or you can take the deuce up and down the strip. If you really want to be in the mid-strip, I%26#39;d recommend you to see if your itinerary is changeable.

Riviera Hotel

Not only is it way North on the strip, not that close to the monorail, but it is on the borderline of being a dump. The rooms %26amp; hallway smell musty to mildewy like. The staff is very rude, the rooms aren%26#39;t that clean, the bathroom is very yucky.

If you can get out of it, I would, if you want something reasonable, middle of the strip, clean rooms, but nothing fancy than you may want to check out Imperial Palace, they have good rates, for being center of the strip. It is an older hotel like Riveria, but the rooms are clean at least. You can check it out on their website which is

www.harrahs.com

on top click on LV then hotel (IP) then hot deals, or stay %26amp; play packages or hotel overview which is the reservation page, to see the rate %26amp; a picture %26amp; description of the room.

You will probably be a little happier their.

Have a great time in wherever you decide to stay.

Remember if you book directly with the hotel, If the rates go down, all you have to do is call %26amp; tell them that you saw a lower rate %26amp; they%26#39;ll give you that low rate, or you can cancel without any penalty within 72 hrs of visiting. If you see a better deal somewhere else you can cancel %26amp; book the better deal that is why it is better to book directly with the hotel %26amp; not any 2nd or 3rd party.

I can%26#39;t confirm that the Riviera is quite the hellhole that Pruske describes but yes, if at all possible, you should switch hotels.

Imperial Palace is an obvious alternative but you should also check out Tropicana (but not the Garden Rooms), Excalibur and Bill%26#39;s.
