Flamingo Trip Report June 1 - 9

This is our 5th trip to Vegas, this time we decided to try the Flamingo! We booked a go room with very cheap rates thanks to the info on here about smartervegas.com. We flew West Jet which as always was fantastick!

The room was beautiful, check in was quick. A few points about the room. Great stereo system, loved the little fridge in the room for beers and snacks, shower was wonderfull and the beds were really comfy!

The hotel is great, not too huge. The only thing I did%26#39;t like was there was terrible waitress service in the casino. We gambled there several times and the service was the least of all the casinos we hit. Which was pretty much all of them!! Pool is beautifull, but you need to get there early to get a good seat! We found a nice little cafe/store in the Hilton Flamingo Vacation Club. You can access it from the pool. Way cheaper beer than paying $6.00 each at the pool bar. They also had Starbucks coffee and really great breakfast sandwiches.

I won%26#39;t bore everyone with details from everyday just some trip highlights!!! Grand Canyon Helcoptor tour...DO IT!!! We booked the delux tour that picks you up in a limo and has the largest helicoptors for the tour. Well worth the $$$$. Don%26#39;t book it through the hotel, on the strip between Planet Hollywood and the Harley Davidson Restaurant is a store with a tour booking company in the back of it. We saved just about $300.00 each booking through them.

We had great meals at Mon Ami Gabi, loved the view of the Bellagio fountains from the patio. We had the best Mexican food at Isla at TI. Margaritaville is always fun and good food. 9 Fine Irishmen was pretty good as well.

Went to Kenny Chesney at MGM. I had a blast, what a great performer!!!

Shopping was great as always. Forum shops(several times!!!) Premium Outlet mall and the Miricle Mile.

We also spent an evening in Old Vegas. Always fun...noticed they have done alot of work at the Golden Nuggett. It looks absolutley beautiful, pool looks incredible. Best service we had in all of Vegas was at Mermaids!!! Lots of fun, can%26#39;t wait to go again.

It sounds like you stayed in a GO room, can you confirm that is correct?

Mermaids in downtown vegas can not be beat. I went there with my parents and the waitresses were incredible. If you want to get drunk the fast way, that%26#39;;s the place to go

Yes we did stay in a go room.

And the GO room had a refrig. We%26#39;ve stayed in a GO room twice last year, and no frig for us. Hmmm?

Yes a GO room with a fridge. It was tucked under the ';desk'; area beside the bed. Room 25021.
