';Free'; Magic Show at Greek Isles Casino

I just spoke with someone at Greek Isles Casino, and they told me that the first 100 people that come to reservation desk for the Worlds Greatest Magic Show get free tickets.

I know that this is definately not one of the better shows, (you get what you pay for?) but if someone is on a budget, or looking for a way to spend a couple of hours without spending any money, this might be a cool suggestion.

Has anyone seen this show, or heard about it? I have found a few reviews that range from ';wonderful'; to ';absolutely awful';.

I think my wife and I will go next week, and see for ourselves.

8 days and counting!!!!!

I also read about the free tickets. I am bringing my wife and children on Saturday night. I am going knowing that it wont be Lance Burton, but also going with an open mind......hope to have a good time. I think the kids will enjoy this type of show.

I will let you know how it went.

Leaving for Vegas in 5 hours and 5 minutes!!!!

Luxor here we come.

';Free'; Magic Show at Greek Isles Casino

The fact that they are giving away 100 free tickets to a show in a theater that can%26#39;t seat more than about 300 should tell you how good a show it is.

I actually saw this show in April and enjoyed it very much. I%26#39;ve not SEEN Lance Burton, so I%26#39;m not even going to comment on a comparison.

At the World%26#39;s Greatest Magic Show you will see about six performers (both male and female) doing their ';best'; illusions. Their performance talents vary, but their skills are really very good.

It is a nice theatre (much nicer than the rest of the property--which, quite frankly, is a dive) and it was an enjoyable night. There is drink service that is not at all ';pushy.';

We also took advantage of the first 100 free tickets. We did not have to arrive at the window to be one of the first 100. The information we had said to be one of the first 100 to ';call';. I called when the box office opened (9 a.m.) and reserved our tickets. You do paid about $2/ticket printing charge.

There is GA seating and VIP seating (in booths--which you pay about $10 extra for). Now, coming in on comped tickets (and it says that on the ticket), I expected to be seated at the back of the theater. Not so. We were escorted promptly to the front and were seated at the first row of tables, directly behind the first row of booths. GREAT SEATS! (BTW, I would estimate that the line started forming about 1/2 - 3/4 hour before the doors opened.)

I do have to tell you that we are not big magic fans (thus having not seen Burton ;) but we wanted to see this because we knew one of the illusionists. He . . . and the rest of the cast . . . did not disappoint . . . in fact entertained, us.

Be prepared for there to not be a great deal to do while you%26#39;re waiting for the show. The casino is small and holds only slots . . . no tables. Drink service is excellent, however ;)

One other note: There is not a line up of taxi cabs at GI. When the show is over, go to the front desk and ask for cabs to be called. They%26#39;ll be there in short order.

The Greek Isles is trying to get people to their casino in the hopes a few will stay and play. They are a small place that has had numerous owners and still trying to find their nitch.

Why bust on them for trying something to build a business?

We get offers for free Elton John and Cher tickets along with free rooms. Is that a comment on the quality of those shows???????

BuffBillsfan nothing to do with the quality of the show. More like the willingness of hosts to get you to come back and play. Not the same thing.

Where is the Greel Isles casino located?, thinking that we might check out this show..

Jack, it is the same thing on a different level. Of course our host wants us to come back and play. But the GI is also trying to get customers to come back and play. The only difference is in the amount of play they are looking or versus the amount of cost to book the act.

GI is looking for $100 players for a lower cost show where CP is looking for a larger player for a higher cost show.

Spuddysmom, Greek Isles is midway between the Strip and the Convention Center. You can take the monorail to the CC and it%26#39;s a 5-10 minute walk. After dark I%26#39;d be tempted to take a taxi.

I saw this show a wile back when it was at the Sahara. the show was ok...but just ok. Many of the tricks were easy. Nothing spectacular, nothing mind boggling. I didn%26#39;t feel jipped or anything, just neutral about the show.. neither good nor bad.

They are frequently handing out deeply discounted tickets to the Mac Davis Comedy Magic Show ( an afternoon show) in front of Harrah%26#39;s where he appears. If I recall you have to buy one cocktail. But for just a little more money , his show is consistently voted one of the best and you won%26#39;t have to go off strip to a seedy casino to see it.
