North or South Rim?

What would you recommend? South or North Rim?

North or South Rim?

I like them both. (Sorry, I know THAT%26#39;S a real helpful reply lol)

Two different experiences. North Rim is quite remote, limited services, closes in early October and reopens in April/May I think.

South Rim gets more visitors and is better set up to receive them. Meaning more facilities both inside and outside the park. Plenty of places to stay, eat, etc. both in the park and immediately outside. At the more popular view points you definitely won%26#39;t be alone, but it%26#39;s possible to get off the beaten path a bit to some more secluded views.

North or South Rim?

If you%26#39;re traveling there from Las Vegas, I%26#39;d recommend the South Rim. Much easier, faster to get to, more accommodations.

The South Rim is the most famous part of Grand Canyon, the part you see on postcards, on travel shows, etc. The North Rim is less accessible and less developed, although certainly no less beautiful.

If Vegas isn%26#39;t part of the equation, you might check out the Grand Canyon forum.

IrishFan said it very well. I don%26#39;t know of many options for visiting the North rim from Vegas. Most go to the South or West. Between those two, you certainly want to do the South. Keep in mind with ANY tour; plane, helicopter, or bus they give you very little time at the Canyon. In some cases, as little as a half hour. Whether it be North or South, the best way to see it is to rent a car and make it an overnight trip. One day trips to the Canyon really don%26#39;t work.

As a side trip from Vegas, South Rim makes much more sense. North Rim requires that bit of extra time and planning as there is considerably less available accommodation close by. You%26#39;ll get more info on the Grand Canyon NP forum.

I can%26#39;t actually pick one as I%26#39;ve never been to North Rim. It%26#39;s a trip I%26#39;ve been planning for years and will finall get around to one day..... :-)

Well we do plan to do it as a day trip from vegas. I have found trips to both north and south rim, similar price and similar times. That was throu Viator website

Do yourself a favor and spend a night at the South Rim. The sunset and sunrise make it all worthwhile.

The South Rim has much more to see and do in terms of accomodations, view points, hiking trails and learning opportunities. And the best way to experience the Grand canyon is to plan to spend at least one night there, preferably in one of the park lodges. Sunset and sunrise are magical times there, and there is now ay you can include that in a day trip from LV.

Avoid at all costs any offers to travel to the so called West Rim. The deceptive marketing will tell you that it%26#39;s easy to get there and back in a simple day trip. The truth is that it doesn%26#39;t go to the real Grand Canyon.
