Excalibur Pool Area

Hello!

My hubby and I are heading to Vegas June 30-July 7. We are currently booked at the Monte Carlo, which is our favorite Vegas hotel. Our only complaint was when we stayed at the MC there last year the pool area had been decreased quite a bit by the building of City Center so it was pretty hard finding chairs and pretty noisey with construction.

I received an e-mail offer from Excalibur yesterday which is cheaper and I see they have redone their pool area ... which looks pretty nice, though there is only one picture on their website.

My question is, has anyone stayed there since the pool upgrade? Is it nice and roomy? Anyone know how much cabana rental is?

We prefer the MC casino and food, but since we are coming from Minnesota and we have only seen the sun and a dry day once in a week and half ... the pool is important! lol!

Thanks in advance for any opinions!!

Kris :)

whats a cabana?

for the previous poster, a cabana is basically a tent that you rent poolside that can have tv%26#39;s fans and all the amenities that would make relaxing all day in 100 degree heat bearable.

i haven%26#39;t stayed there myself, but my friends spent all day at the pool this last weekend and they seemed to enjoy it. keep in mind these are 3 single guys in their early 30%26#39;s. they said there was still more of a family scene than other pools and there were some crazy girls flashing everyone which also may be while they loved it so much. so pretty much a less relaxing atmosphere than the monte carlo pool, which was always nice. a shame the construction next door has ruined the ambiance.

sorry, i don%26#39;t know about the cabana costs.

I would expect that there will be similar issues at the MC pool this time around. I might want to give Excalibur a try, though their pool tends to draw a lot of kids. Have you considered MGM? You should be able to get a good rate with one of their promo codes.

gominnesotawild - there are some great pics of the new pool area on here... look up Excalibur and view the photos on the right side of the page (the candid traveler photos). It looks very nice and people have given it great reviews. They now have 4 pools at Excalibur and one is adults-only.

I will be at Excal. in August and have been there before in August and have never seen it overrun with kids. I saw more kids at the Monte Carlo than Excalibur... just FYI...

Not sure how much the cabana rentals are.

The Excaliburs pool is really nice, with plenty of chairs. They have some great promotions going on now starting around $41 a night. I found thier promotions page. here is the link
